SOFTWARE FOR THE DESIGN OF GEARING WITH AN ASYMMETRIC PROFILE

open access: yesMECCA Journal of Middle European Construction and Design of Cars, 2021
This article is a continuation of previously published articles. This paper briefly describes the positive and negative qualities of asymmetric gearing from the point of view of loading conditions applied at the gearset, and the development and latest update of the software for designing this special involute gearing.

Stiffness‐Programmable Origami Robots With Tendon‐Driven Actuation via Multimaterial 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Motion diversity is achieved in a tendon‐driven origami robot through programmable stiffness rather than modified actuation. Multimaterial 3D printing embeds soft creases, modular inserts redirect identical tendon inputs into distinct behaviors, and variable‐stiffness inserts enable real‐time switching.

Review of Composite Asymmetric Spur Gear

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering Research, 2015
Gears made from composite materials are widely used in many power and motion transmission applications. Due to lower weight to stiffness ratio, composite gears may be replaced by conventional material gears in power transmission systems.

Control of Gear Transmission Servo Systems With Asymmetric Deadzone Nonlinearity [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2016
This brief deals with the output control problem of gear transmission servo systems with asymmetric deadzone nonlinearity between states. To overcome the difficulty of controller design due to the nondifferentiability of the deadzone, a brand new differentiable asymmetric deadzone model is put forward, which provides an additional design degree of ...

Absorption of Broadband Low‐Frequency Sound Beyond the Thermodynamics Limit: An Acoustic Resonator With Magnetic Bearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a magnetic‐bearing acoustic resonator that overcomes the thermodynamics limit of sound absorption. By introducing tunable negative stiffness, it achieves broadband low‐frequency absorption within a compact cavity, far exceeding the performance achievable by classic mass‐tuned designs.
