From Fundamentals to Engineering Sustainable Triboelectric Materials: A Review of Cellulose Platforms

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review examines cellulose as a sustainable platform for triboelectric nanogenerators, linking molecular structure, surface chemistry, and material engineering to charge generation, retention, and dissipation. Native, regenerated, and nanocellulose materials, functionalization strategies, scalable manufacturing, and diverse applications are ...

Tailoring Microstructure and Hardness in Maraging 300 Steel via 2.4 wt.% Niobium Addition and Controlled Aging Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
High Nb (2.4 wt.%) addition to Maraging 300 steel drives lattice distortion and nanoscale Nb–Mo‐rich precipitation, confirmed by energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy mapping (Mo ~5.4 wt.%, Nb ~2.5 wt.%). Nanoindentation reveals strong matrix hardening (H >4.8 GPa) at 480°C aging, while 560°C induces ~1.92 vol.% reverted austenite, enabling tunable ...

一种新型的仿生步行机构及其运动仿真

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2010
Imitating animals asymmetric motion,a new-style bionics walking mechanism is designed by using two tandem planetary gear trains, which is composed of one first swiveling arm,one second swiveling arm,two striding rods and walking bracket, etc. In which, the ...

Epiphora: A Structured Diagnostic Approach for the Otolaryngologist

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Epiphora, or excessive tearing, has historically been predominantly managed by ophthalmologists. However, as there is substantial overlap between ophthalmic and otolaryngologic anatomy and pathology that may contribute to epiphora, patients with this symptom often present to otolaryngologists as well.

Depth‐resolved X‐ray residual stress analysis on samples with cylindrically shaped surface topography

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
Modifications of the fundamental equation of X‐ray stress analysis are proposed that allow correction of the hoop and longitudinal stresses obtained from sin2ψ measurements on samples featuring an inhomogeneous surface topography. The formalism is verified by angle‐ and energy‐dispersive measurements performed on a ferritic steel sample with ...

Alternative Contract Design: Analysing the Bankability of Fungible Derivative Contracts in Energy‐Only Markets

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the retirement of 21GW of legacy coal fleet looming, the task to replace Australia's thermal capacity with alternative firmed renewable ‘bulk energy’ solutions is non‐trivial. Indeed, calibrating necessary capital investment in new plant stock with efficient economic outcomes, vis‐à‐vis cost and reliability, represents a fundamental ...

Preparing to Fight the ‘Wrong War’? Why the UK Defence Budget Must Focus More on ‘National Resilience’

open access: yesThe Political Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This article argues that the current debate over defence spending in the United Kingdom is fundamentally flawed. Too much emphasis is being placed on preparing for a form of warfare with Russia that is unlikely to occur. As this article points out, the Russians actually want to avoid a traditional battlefield confrontation with NATO.

Is the rent too high? Land ownership and monopoly power

open access: yesReal Estate Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Pricing power in real estate markets can reduce housing supply and redevelopment relative to the social optimum. We show how pricing power interacts with popular redevelopment subsidies and zoning regulations. Using building‐level rental income data from NYC, we find that increased concentration is correlated with increased rents.
