Automatic Scallion Seedling Feeding Mechanism with an Asymmetrical High-order Transmission Gear Train

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2020
The current automatic scallion-transplanting machine is a complicated mechanism composed of two linkage mechanisms and two band carriers. It delivers seedlings inefficiently because of the movement limitations of the linkage mechanism.

APPLICATION OF ASYMMETRIC PROFILE IN GEARINGS WITH ECCENTRIC GEARS

open access: yesScientific Journal of Silesian University of Technology. Series Transport, 2014
Gearing was designed to meet specific requirement, during one rotation was continuous change of gear ratio. The gearing consists of two identical gears. The basic shape of the wheel is formed by an ellipse. One of the foci is the center of rotation. Wheels are designed for only one direction of rotation.

Prediction of Pipeline Defect Depth and Classification Based on CatBoost

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Obtaining detection data using in‐line pipeline inspection, the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) is applied to expand the sample set, thereby increasing the number of minority‐class samples. This approach effectively improves minority‐class detection and enhances pipeline safety assessment. ABSTRACT Magnetic flux leakage detection is a

An analysis of fishing gear competition. Catalan fisheries as case studies

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2013
An asymmetric index was developed to measure the competition relationships among fishing fleets (or gears or métiers) in a multispecies fishery. This index can be used to measure the degree of dominance of each fleet and its level of independence from ...

Technological Evolution in Fintech: A Decadal Scientometric and Systematic Review of Developments and Criticisms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aims to classify pivotal fintech innovations and explore the prospects and pitfalls associated with emerging fintech services extensively discussed in the literature. We conducted a multistage systematic review of research published on fintech over the past decade from a technological perspective. Using the Preferred Reporting Items

Radio-controlled model design and testing techniques for stall/spin evaluation of general-aviation aircraft [PDF]

open access: yes
A relatively inexpensive radio-controlled model stall/spin test technique was developed. Operational experiences using the technique are presented. A discussion of model construction techniques, spin-recovery parachute system, data recording system, and ...

The Art of Reception: Field Visits as Microcosms for Development Interventions of Non‐Governmental Organisations in Uganda

open access: yesJournal of International Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Field visits are common phenomena with non‐governmental organisations in Uganda. During these visits, Ugandan national staff guide visitors on series of meetings and interactions in the field. Following an actor‐oriented approach and drawing on ethnographic data on 14 field visits, this paper understands the field visit as a microcosm for the ...

Statistical analysis of variability properties of the Kepler blazar W2R 1926+42

open access: yes, 2018
We analyzed Kepler light curves of the blazar W2R 1926+42 that provided nearly continuous coverage from quarter 11 through quarter 17 (589 days between 2011 and 2013) and examined some of their flux variability properties.

Bending strength simulation of asymmetric involute tooth gears

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2015
Aiming at high load capacity, the design of the tooth profile which is not caught by the conventional profile is performed. Root stresses are calculated by 2D-FEM for various profile gears: 1) completely bilateral symmetry, 2) symmetry pressure angle and asymmetry fillet curve, and 3) asymmetry tooth.
