Study on Financial Market Risk Measurement Based on Asymmetric Laplace Distribution [PDF]
In this paper, According to the returns distributions (of the financial assets returns series) with peak fat-tailed and asymmetric and the theory of Asymmetric Laplace distribution.AL-VaR (AL-CVaR) parametric method and Monte Carlo simulation are proposed which are based on Asymmetric Laplace distribution.

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) tactile skins enable multiplexed measurements that trade sensing speed against information richness. This work introduces an economy‐of‐touch framework that treats tactile sensing as an information‐budgeting problem.

Background The CD4 cell count signifies the health of an individual’s immune system. The use of data-driven models enables clinicians to accurately interpret potential information, examine the progression of CD4 count, and deal with patient heterogeneity

Three‐dimensional geometric morphometric analysis of diaphragmatic dome motion in COPD patients
Abstract Diaphragmatic dysfunction is a hallmark of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), especially in emphysema, where hyperinflation alters diaphragm geometry and impairs inspiratory mechanics. However, quantitative three‐dimensional (3D) assessments of diaphragmatic dome shape and motion across COPD phenotypes are limited.

On a class of distributions with simple exponential tails [PDF]
A simple general construction is put forward which covers many unimodal univariate distributions with simple exponentially decaying tails (e.g. asymmetric Laplace, log F and hyperbolic distributions as well as many new models).

Generalized Univariate Distributions and a New Asymmetric Laplace Model
This work provides a survey of the general class of distributions generated from the mixture of the beta random variables. We provide an extensive review of the literature, concerning generating new distributions via the inverse CDF transformation. In particular, we accounted for beta generated and Kumaraswamy generated families of distributions.

Repeating Nuclear Transients From Repeating Partial Tidal Disruption Events
ABSTRACT Extragalactic nuclear transients that exhibit repeating outbursts can be modeled as the repeated dynamical interaction between bound stars and supermassive black holes (SMBHs). A subset of these transients, with recurrence timescales of months‐to‐years, have been explained as accretion flares from the repeated tidal stripping of a star by an ...

Recent strategies address these challenges through ion‐specific regulation, encompassing chloride‐tolerant and chloride‐regulating anodes together with cathode designs that suppress OH− accumulation and Mg2+/Ca2+ coupling. This ion‐management‐oriented framework provides general guidelines for achieving stable, selective, and scalable seawater ...
