Gaps of size 2, 4, and (conditionally) 6 between successive odd composite numbers occur infinitely often [PDF]
The infinite sequence of gaps (first differences) between successive odd composite numbers contains only the numbers 2, 4, and 6. We prove that, for any natural number k, the sequence of gaps contains infinitely many k-tuplets of consecutive gaps all ...

For a second order equation with a small factor at the highest derivative the asymptotic behavior of all eigenvalues of periodic and antiperiodic problems is studied. The main assumption is that the coefficient at the first derivative in the equation is the

Asymptotics of Solutions of the Generalized Hutchinson’s Equation
We discuss the dynamics of the Hutchinson’s equation and its generalizations. An estimate of the global stability region of a positive steady state is obtained. The main results refer to existence, stability and asymptotics of a slow oscillating solution.

Asymptotic Formulation for the Rayleigh Wave on a Nonlocally Elastic Half-Space
This paper deals with the Rayleigh wave, propagating on a nonlocally elastic, linearly isotropic half-space, excited by a prescribed surface loading. The consideration develops the methodology of hyperbolic–elliptic models for Rayleigh and Rayleigh-type ...

A Systematically Reduced Mathematical Model for Organoid Expansion
Organoids are three-dimensional multicellular tissue constructs. When cultured in vitro, they recapitulate the structure, heterogeneity, and function of their in vivo counterparts. As awareness of the multiple uses of organoids has grown, e.g.

A High-Dimensional Counterpart for the Ridge Estimator in Multicollinear Situations
The ridge regression estimator is a commonly used procedure to deal with multicollinear data. This paper proposes an estimation procedure for high-dimensional multicollinear data that can be alternatively used.

ASYMPTOTIC UNCONDITIONALITY [PDF]
We show that a separable real Banach space embeds almost isometrically in a space $Y$ with a shrinking 1-unconditional basis if and only if $\lim_{n \to \infty} \|x^* + x_n^*\| = \lim_{n \to \infty} \|x^* - x_n^*\|$ whenever $x^* \in X^*$, $(x_n^*)$ is a weak$^*$-null sequence and both limits exist. If $X$ is reflexive then $Y$ can be assumed reflexive.

Medicine and “ Big Pharma” , as its strongest ally, are rapidly reorienting toward treating the healthy people, which is well reflected in the Ray Moynihan’ s term of disease mongering and Richard Smith’ s list of non-diseases. The most obvious and commonest reasons for this trend are profit (healthy people are more numerous and wealthier than ill ...
