The Approach to Asymptotic Behavior in Photoionization

Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 2001
AbstractThe high energy behavior of many atomic processes can be understood in terms of the theory of asymptotic Fourier transforms (AFT). In high energy atomic processes initial or final state wave functions will include continuum states of asymptotic plane wave character, and these will often result in a matrix element which can be viewed as a (multi‐

Heuristics and Asymptotic Behavior

1998
We saw in the previous section that only small QAP instances (instances of size up to 22) can be solved to optimality. On the other side, the large spectrum of applications of the QAP often leads to instances of much larger size. Under these conditions, polynomial time heuristics providing suboptimal solutions to the QAP abound in the literature ...

Asymptotic Behavior of Functions

2001
Here we consider the behavior of scalar complex-valued functions for sufficiently large real and complex arguments in an unbounded domain D. We look for asymptotic approximations of the functions which may be written by the relations of type O, o, ~, and we estimate their growth (when the argument tends to infinity) by means of real numbers.

Asymptotic Behavior of Integrals

SIAM Review, 1972
An account is given of some developments in the asymptotic evaluation of integrals of a single variable. After a discussion of Laplace integrals and quadrature formulas, estimates are provided of the errors in Laplace-type integrals and the method of steepest descents.
