A Class of Simple Distribution-free Rank-based Unit Root Tests (Revision of DP 2010-72)

open access: yes
We propose a class of distribution-free rank-based tests for the null hypothesis of a unit root. This class is indexed by the choice of a reference density g, which needs not coincide with the unknown actual innovation density f.

Asymptotic Distribution of

open access: yes, 2014
Under normality, an asymptotic distribution of sample covariance determi-nant will be derived. We show that this asymptotic distribution is more applicable in practice than the classical one.

Long‐term demography and spatial genetic structure reveal mechanisms of Sassafras albidum population persistence through clonality

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Vegetative regeneration is a key mechanism of woody plant persistence in forest ecosystems, and the coupled roles of basal sprouting and clonal growth in shaping long‐term population dynamics have been understudied. Basal sprouting replaces stems at fixed ramet locations, whereas clonal growth via root suckering produces spatially ...

Nonparametric confidence bands in deconvolution density estimation [PDF]

open access: yes
Uniform confidence bands for densities f via nonparametric kernel estimates were first constructed by Bickel and Rosenblatt [Ann. Statist. 1, 1071.1095].

Pollination by long‐proboscid horseflies and its implications for reproductive isolation among coflowering Satyrium orchids in South Africa

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Floral adaptations to pollinators can drive lineage diversification and promote coexistence of species. We investigated the reproductive biology of Satyrium longicolle, a South African orchid that we hypothesized to belong to a long‐proboscid horsefly pollination guild and examined overlap of pollinators and floral traits among ...

Late Cytomegalovirus Infections After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis with posttransplant cyclophosphamide (ptCY) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) prophylaxis with letermovir have changed the clinical epidemiology of CMV infection. We studied the incidence, risk factors for, and outcomes of CMV infection after Day + 90 of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (alloHCT ...

Hypothesis Testing in Linear Regression when K/N is Large [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper derives the asymptotic distribution of the F-test for the significance of linear regression coefficients as both the number of regressors, k, and the number of observations, n, increase together so that their ratio remains positive in the ...

A New Paradigm for Understanding the Rheology and Processability of Poly(p‐Phenylene Terephthalamide) Liquid‐Crystalline Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

ESTIMATION AND ASYMPTOTIC THEORY FOR A NEW CLASS OF MIXTURE MODELS [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper a new model of mixture of distributions is proposed, where the mixing structure is determined by a smooth transition tree architecture.

Long‐Range Interactions in Topological Superconducting Systems: A Mini Review

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Long‐range interacting quantum systems are surveyed in this review, with an emphasis on the long‐range topological superconductor and its variants. Long‐range interactions decaying in a power‐law manner can lead to exotic phenomena that finds no analogue in short‐range regimes.
