Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

CLTs and asymptotic variance of time-sampled Markov chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For a Markov transition kernel P and a probability distribution μ on nonnegative integers, a time-sampled Markov chain evolves according to the transition kernel Pμ = Σkμ(k)Pk.

Fuzzy Improved Distributions for Exceedance Counts in Order Statistic Intervals

open access: yesMathematics
We study exceedance counts for order statistic intervals when boundary uncertainty is modeled through a fuzzy improved distribution function. In an ordinary setting, whether an observation falls below a threshold is decided by a crisp comparison, which ...

Maximum Likelihood Estimation for the Fractional Vasicek Model

open access: yesEconometrics, 2020
This paper estimates the drift parameters in the fractional Vasicek model from a continuous record of observations via maximum likelihood (ML). The asymptotic theory for the ML estimates (MLE) is established in the stationary case, the explosive case ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

"Characterization of the Asymptotic Distribution of Semiparametric M-Estimators" [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a concrete formula for the asymptotic distribution of two-step, possibly non-smooth semiparametric M-estimators under general misspecification.

On pseudorandom functions and asymptotic distributions [PDF]

open access: yesMonte Carlo Methods and Applications, 2000
The authors provide a simple proof of a result of \textit{S. Ogawa} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 158, No. 1, 94-105 (1991; Zbl 0731.60027)] on the asymptotic behaviour of pseudorandom functions. Some flaws in Ogawa's original statement are indicated and a counterexample is given.

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
