Observer‐Based Adaptive Event‐Triggered Tracking Control for Fuzzy TS Systems With Premise Mismatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents an adaptive logistic event‐triggered observer‐based tracking controller for Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems under constrained inputs and network delays. Leveraging a hybrid LMI and Secretary Bird Optimization approach, this strategy significantly minimizes communication overhead and computational burden while ensuring optimal reference ...

The asymptotic enumeration of rooted convex polyhedra

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 1984
AbstractAn asymptotic formula is obtained for the number of rooted c-nets with m vertices and n edges as m, n → ∞ with 12 + ε < nm < 2 − ε for some ε > 0.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Use of Enumerative Combinatorics for Proving the Applicability of an Asymptotic Stability Result on Discrete-Time SIS Epidemics in Complex Networks

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
In this paper, we justify by the use of Enumerative Combinatorics, the applicability of an asymptotic stability result on Discrete-Time Epidemics in Complex Networks, where the complex dynamics of an epidemic model to identify the nodes that contribute ...

Analytic methods in asymptotic enumeration

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1996
The paper discusses successes and failures of analytic techniques in asymptotic enumeration. The paper shows problems from asymptotic enumeration, when standard analytic techniques work nicely, and the user does not have to go through the pains of the saddle point method (Haiman-admissible functions).

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

Multilayer Self‐Limiting Electrospray Deposition via Stepped Voltage Bias

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐limiting electrospray deposition (SLED) uses a high voltage to generate and deposit a charged payload on a target surface. The coating retains its charge, repelling newly arriving material. SLED thickness can be decreased by applying a secondary bias to the target.
