Default Priors in a Zero-Inflated Poisson Distribution: Intrinsic Versus Integral Priors

open access: yesMathematics
Prior elicitation is an important issue in both subjective and objective Bayesian frameworks, where prior distributions impose certain information on parameters before data are observed.

Asymptotically Lacunary Statistical Equivalence of Double Sequences of Sets

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2016
The concepts of Wijsman asymptotically equivalence, Wijsman asymptotically statistically equivalence, Wijsman asymptotically lacunary equivalence and Wijsman asymptotically lacunary statistical equivalence for sequences of sets were studied by Ulusu and ...

Formation Control of Multi‐Agent System with Local Interaction and Artificial Potential Field

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article proposes a local interaction‐based formation control method for Multi‐Agent system, integrating consensus and leader‐follower strategies with a stress response mechanism—artificial potential field to reduce communication overhead and enable obstacle avoidance. Experimental results on triangular, square, and hexagonal formations confirm its

Asymptotically J_σ-Equivalence of Sequences of Sets

open access: yesSakarya University Journal of Science, 2019
In this study, we introduce the concepts of Wijsman asymptotically J-invariant equivalence (WLJσ) , Wijsman asymptotically strongly p-invariant equivalence ([WLVσ)]p) and Wijsman asymptotically J*-invariant equivalence (WLJ*σ). Also, we investigate the relationships among the concepts of Wijsman asymptotically invariant equivalence, Wijsman ...

Backpropagation Through Soft Body: Investigating Information Processing in Brain–Body Coupling Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores how information processing is distributed between brains and bodies through a codesign approach. Using the “backpropagation through soft body” framework, brain–body coupling agents are developed and analyzed across several tasks in which output is generated through the agents’ physical dynamics.

Modular, Textile‐Based Soft Robotic Grippers for Agricultural Produce Handling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces textile‐based pneumatic grippers that transform simple textiles into robust bending actuators. Detailed experiments uncover how cut geometry and fabric selection shape performance. Successful handling of fragile agricultural items showcases the potential of textile robotics for safe, scalable automation in food processing and ...

Cryo‐EM Structure Guided Engineering of Botulinum Neurotoxin A With Advanced Receptor Binding Affinity and Therapeutical Benefits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The butterfly unfolded wing in an open form structure of botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A) at physiological‐state was confirmed at 2.85 Å resolution by cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Structure‐guided protein engineering significantly enhanced the receptor‐binding affinity, therapeutic efficacy, and safety of the engineered toxin variants ...

Linearizing and Forecasting: A Reservoir Computing Route to Digital Twins of the Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new approach uses simple neural networks to create digital twins of brain activity, capturing how different patterns unfold over time. The method generates and recovers key dynamics even from noisy data. When applied to fMRI, it predicts brain signals and reveals distinctive activity patterns across regions and individuals, opening possibilities for ...

Optimal Grazing Exclusion Duration to Enhance Soil Carbon Sequestration in Degraded Grasslands

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Across China, grazing exclusion reaches the national mean soil organic carbon recovery benchmark sooner in high‐MAP regions (> 500 mm), but recovery is much slower where MAP < 300 mm. Scaling this strategy to 70% of China's degraded grasslands would sequester about 1.52 Pg of soil carbon over 10 years—roughly 17% of annual global fossil‐fuel emissions.

On the Near-Horizon Canonical Quantum Microstates from AdS2/CFT1 and Conformal Weyl Gravity

open access: yesUniverse, 2017
We compute the full asymptotic symmetry group of black holes belonging to the same equivalence class of solutions within the conformal Weyl gravity formalism.
