An Asymptotic Formula for the Commutators

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1998
The main aim of this paper is to prove two asymptotic formulas which unify several ``Taylor type formulas'', defined in the context of commutators and analytic functional calculi. For the sake of simplicity, we shall present only the particular case of bounded linear operators acting in the same Banach space, although the authors' framework is slightly

Asymptotic unbounded root loci - Formulae and computation [PDF]

open access: yes1981 20th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1981
We study the asymptotic behavior of the dosed loop eigenvalues (root loci) of a strictly proper linear time-invariant control system as loop gain goes to \infty . The formulas are stated in terms of the eigenvalues of nested restricted linear maps of the form A(\mod S_{2})|_{S_{1}} where S 1 and S 2 are subspaces of complementary dimension.

Terahertz Volume Plasmon‐Polariton Modulation in All‐Dielectric Hyperbolic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
THz volume plasmon‐polariton (VPP) propagation through plasmon‐based hyperbolic metamaterials, made of alternating layers of doped and undoped III‐V semiconductors. Abstract The development of plasmonics and related applications in the terahertz range faces limitations due to the intrinsic high electron density of the standard metals.

Backpropagation Through Soft Body: Investigating Information Processing in Brain–Body Coupling Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores how information processing is distributed between brains and bodies through a codesign approach. Using the “backpropagation through soft body” framework, brain–body coupling agents are developed and analyzed across several tasks in which output is generated through the agents’ physical dynamics.

Some simple varieties of trees arising in permutation analysis [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2013
After extending classical results on simple varieties of trees to trees counted by their number of leaves, we describe a filtration of the set of permutations based on their strong interval trees.

Factors Driving Battery and Solar Purchase Decision of Residents: a Behavioural Choice Experiment Using a Hybrid Discrete Choice and Latent Variable Model

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This article explores what drives households to adopt solar PV and battery systems in South East Queensland. Using hybrid discrete choice experiments, it reveals distinct adopter profiles and highlights cost, system size, and energy independence as key motivators.

Correlations of multiplicities in length spectra for congruence subgroups

open access: yes, 2012
Bogomolny-Leyvraz-Schmit (1996) and Peter (2002) proposed an asymptotic formula for the correlation of the multiplicities in length spectrum on the modular surface, and Lukianov (2007) extended its asymptotic formula to the Riemann surfaces derived from ...

Dynamic yield stresses of glasses: asymptotic formulae [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2005
The stationary, shear rate dependent flow curves of yielding glasses are discussed within a mode coupling theory approach. Asymptotic formulae fo rt he shear stress at the transition point are obtained that take the form of generalized Hershel–Bulkeley constitutive equations, and enable one to find dynamical yield stresses by extrapolation.
