Obstacles to Asymptotic Integrability
1997We study nonintegrable effects appearing in the higher order corrections of an asymptotic perturbation expansion for a given nonlinear wave equation, and show that the analysis of the higher order terms provides a sufficient condition for asymptotic integrability of the original equation.

We describe a test for Asymptotic integrability and apply it to a class of dispersive PDEs. We identify a new equation which is integrable up to order two.

Asymptotic Analysis of Integrals
2016In this chapter we carry out the large-N asymptotic analysis of the single and double integrals that arise in the problem. First, in Section 6.1.1, we deal with the one-fold integrals that arise in the characterisation of the image space \(\mathfrak {X}_{s}(\mathbb {R})\) of \(H_{s}\big ( [ a_N \,; b_N ] \big )\) under the operator \(\mathcal {S}_N ...

Integrals and Asymptotic Expansions
1989In assessing the content of Ramanujan’s first letter to him, Hardy [9, p. 9] judged that “on the whole, the integral formulae seemed the least imprsessive.” Later he added that Ramanujan’s definite integral formulae “are still interesting and will repay a careful analysis” [9, p. 186].

Asymptotic Estimates for Integrals
2015Mechanical problems can be described by differential equations, the solutions of which often cannot be expressed by elementary functions, but have an integral representation.

Propagating Asymptotic ControllabilityThrough Integrators
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2004For a class of systems with triangular structure, we derive sufficient conditions for global asymptotic controllability which, according to Clarke-Ledyaev-Sontag-Subbotin theorem, guarantees asymptotic stabilization by discontinuous static feedback.

Asymptotics of Integrated Processes
2016This chapter aims at providing the basics in order to understand the asymptotic distributions of modern time series econometrics. In the first section, we treat the mathematical problems of a functional limit theory as solved and get to know the basic ingredients of a functional limit theory.

Asymptotic expansions of integrals
1995Abstract In the preceding chapter we gave the classical saddlepoint approximations for densities and tail probabilities for sums of independent random variables. In applications we will often want to go a step further and perform an integration to obtain a marginal distribution or a mean value, say.
