Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

Redistributive land reforms, agricultural productivity, and structural change: New cross‐national evidence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Large‐scale land reforms constitute a substantial redistribution of wealth and reallocation of agricultural land, which is a major form of asset and production input in developing countries. While land redistribution (from the rich to the poor) remains a highly controversial issue, extensive evidence on its effect is limited.

A Class of Simple Distribution-free Rank-based Unit Root Tests (Revision of DP 2010-72)

open access: yes
We propose a class of distribution-free rank-based tests for the null hypothesis of a unit root. This class is indexed by the choice of a reference density g, which needs not coincide with the unknown actual innovation density f.

Research on Diaphragm Pump Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Res‐DCB‐Net

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nonstationary pressure pulsation signals of diaphragm pumps contain strong background noise and coupled characteristics. This makes it challenging to extract incipient fault features and to decouple faults with similar physical mechanisms. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a spatiotemporal fault diagnosis model named Res‐DCB ...

A New Paradigm for Understanding the Rheology and Processability of Poly(p‐Phenylene Terephthalamide) Liquid‐Crystalline Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

An Adaptive RRT* Algorithm for Narrow Passage Path Planning

open access: yesIEEE Access
In recent years, the rapidly exploring random tree star (RRT*) algorithm has continued to attract significant research attention in the field of path planning due to its simple implementation and asymptotic optimality.

Quantum Phenomena in Molecular and Biological Systems: A Decoherence‐Based Decision Framework With Falsifiable Predictions and a Failure‐Mode Taxonomy

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A physics‐grounded framework based on decoherence timescales (τ_dec vs τ_func), Markovian validity, and falsifiability criteria is applied across molecular systems to distinguish where quantum effects are necessary, marginal, or irrelevant. The analysis integrates quantum chemistry, biological quantum mechanisms, and quantum computing under a unified ...

Backward Anticipated Social Optima: Input Constraints and Partial Information

open access: yesMathematics
A class of stochastic linear-quadratic (LQ) dynamic optimization problems involving a large population is investigated in this work. Here, the agents cooperate with each other to minimize certain social costs.

Non-Asymptotic Pure Exploration by Solving Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Pure exploration (aka active testing) is the fundamental task of sequentially gathering information to answer a query about a stochastic environment. Good algorithms make few mistakes and take few samples. Lower bounds (for multi-armed bandit models with
