Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

FOS3D: A Fluorescence‐Enabled Toolkit for Characterizing a Three‐dimensional Osteosarcoma Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOS3D describes fluorescent (F) osteosarcoma (OS) cells in a tri‐dimensional (3D) model. The study comprises three phases: development, where biofabrication parameters are tuned to achieve cytocompatibility and tumor‐specific mechanical properties in cell‐laden gelatin methacryloyl constructs; validation, where whole‐well fluorescence reading is ...

Asymptotically Optimal Cells for a Historgram

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1987
The purpose of this paper is to examine the properties of the histogram when the cells are allowed to be arbitrary. Given a random sample from an unknown probability density f on I, we wish to construct a histogram. Any partition of I can be used as cells. The optimal partition minimizes the mean integrated squared error (MISE) of the histogram from f.

Brain‐Computer Interface Training Fosters Perceptual Skills to Detect Errors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Accurate perception of visuomotor errors underpins motor precision and learning, yet conventional behavioral training fails to improve sensitivity to subtle errors. Real‐time EEG‐based brain‐computer interface feedback targeting the error positivity component enhances perceptual learning of small errors.

Asymptotic expansions and effective boundary conditions: a short review for smooth and nonsmooth geometries with thin layers★

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2018
Problems involving materials with thin layers arise in various application fields. We present here the use of asymptotic expansions for linear elliptic problems to derive and justify so-called ap-proximate or effective boundary conditions.

A Scalable Sampling-Based Optimal Path Planning Approach via Search Space Reduction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Many sampling strategies in Sampling-Based Planning (SBP) often consider goal and obstacle population and may however become less efficient in large and cluttered 3D environments with a goal distanced away.

Asymptotics for Strassen’s optimal transport problem

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré, Probabilités et Statistiques, 2023
In this paper, we consider Strassen's version of optimal transport (OT) problem, which concerns minimizing the excess-cost probability (i.e., the probability that the cost is larger than a given value) over all couplings of two given distributions. We derive large deviation, moderate deviation, and central limit theorems for this problem.

A Generative Neuro‐Symbolic AI for Protein Sequence Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce EffieDes, a neuro‐symbolic framework coupling deep learning‐based fitness landscape parameterization with exact automated reasoning. Unlike greedy sampling, EffieDes identifies sequences that globally optimize fitness while satisfying intricate design constraints.
