We report here an extensive study of sustained oscillations of the viscosity of a complex fluid near an out-of-equilibrium transition. Using well defined protocols, we perform rheological measurements of the onion texture near a layering transition in a ...

Asymptotic tails of massive scalar fields in Schwarzschild background [PDF]
We investigate the asymptotic tail behavior of massive scalar fields in Schwarzschild background. It is shown that the oscillatory tail of the scalar field has the decay rate of $t^{-5/6}$ at asymptotically late times, and the oscillation with the period

Oscillation and Asymptotic Behavior of Second Order Difference Equations
AbstractThe oscillation of the second order difference equation Δ(cnΔyn) + pnyvn + 1 = 0, n = 0, 1, 2, ... (1.1) is investigated, where Δyn = yn + 1 − yn, v is a quotient of odd positive integers. Some necessary and sufficient conditions for oscillation of (1.1) with v > 1 and v < 1 are obtained.

Dynamic Single‐Input Control of Multistate Multitransition Soft Robotic Actuator
A concept for reducing the number of control inputs to one in a system with N degrees of freedom, is presented. Incorporating structural instabilities, cleverly, enables choosing any desired trajectory out of (N!)2 with only one input. The concept is demonstrated experimentally, along with analytical insights and numerical simulations.

Probing pair correlations in Fermi gases with Ramsey-Bragg interferometry
We propose an interferometric method to probe pair correlations in a gas of spin-$1/2$ fermions. The method consists of a Ramsey sequence where both spin states of the Fermi gas are set in a superposition of a state at rest and a state with a large ...

Asymptotic behavior of solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger equations with time-dependent harmonic potentials [PDF]
In this study, we examine the asymptotic behavior of solutions to nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations with time-dependent harmonic oscillators and prove the time-decay property of solutions in the case of a long range power type nonlinearity.

High-frequency behavior of w-mode pulsations of compact stars [PDF]
We study the asymptotic behavior of the quasi-normal modes (QNMs) of w-mode pulsations of compact stars in the high-frequency regime. We observe that both the axial and polar w-mode QNMs attain similar asymptotic behaviors in spite of the fact that they are described by two totally different differential equation systems.

Fine structure of the asymptotic expansion of cyclic integrals
The asymptotic expansion of $n$-dimensional cyclic integrals was expressed as a series of functionals acting on the symmetric function involved in the cyclic integral.

Asymptotic Behavior and Oscillations of Second Order Differential Equations with Deviating Argument
AbstractThe asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the second order differential equation with deviating argument[formula]is studied. Our technique depends on an integral inequality containing a deviating argument. For special classes of these equations the explicit asymptotic behavior is obtained.

Philanthropy and Indigenous Initiatives: Insights From Australian Donors
ABSTRACT This paper draws on a survey and interview data, collected from a group of 180 donors who made monetary gifts to an Australian higher education institution, to better understand what drives individuals and organisations to donate to Indigenous initiatives.
