Competition theory suggests that interspecific prey competition can result in changes to the dietary niche, but obtaining timeseries of data from sympatric species experiencing temporal variation in competition is challenging. Scotland is an important area for two species of seals, but over the past 20 years, populations of harbour seals Phoca vitulina

Annual survival is a key demographic parameter driving population trends in wildlife populations. However, despite numerous species‐specific or regional studies, global reviews of the factors affecting the survival of declining taxa remain scarce. Here, we investigated annual survival of fledged immature and adult shorebirds, a globally‐distributed and

Trapped in the web: network architectures spread coevolution and shape adaptation
Adaptation is critical for biodiversity to persist under global change. Within ecological communities, species often face tradeoffs between adapting to shifting abiotic conditions and navigating the complex selective pressures imposed by interaction networks.

Abstract Road traffic noise is a pervasive environmental pollutant that negatively affects wildlife globally. Despite growing research, quantifying the spatial extent of noise impacts remains underdeveloped. Soundscape mapping from social sciences and engineering literature offers a useful yet rarely implemented tool to depict noise impact distances ...

Quantifying Dual‐Color Photopolymerization in Xolography via Raman Spectroscopy
A dual‐wavelength Raman spectroscopy workflow is presented for the quantitative assessment of dual‐color photoinitiators. Contrast and efficiency parameters are extracted from in situ curing curves and spatial Raman mapping is used to find inhomogeneities in printed objects.
