On the asymptotic regularity of a family of matrices

Let \(\mathcal{F}\) be a bounded family of \(n\times n\) complex matrices and \(\Sigma_k(\mathcal{F})=\{A_1\cdots A_k\;:\;A_i\in \mathcal{F}\}\). For each \(k\geq 1\), define the number \(\bar{\rho}_k(\mathcal{F})=\sup_{Q\in \Sigma_k(\mathcal{F})} \rho(Q)\) where \(\rho(\cdot)\) denotes the spectral radius of a matrix.

Some results on fixed points of asymptotically regular mappings are obtained in complete metric spaces and normed linear spaces.The structure of the set of common fixed points is also discussed in Banach spaces. Our work generalizes essentially known results of Das and Naik, Fisher, Jaggi, Jungck, Rhoades, Singh and Tiwari and several others.

A general asymptotic dynamic model for Lipschitzian elastic curved rods
