Classification and stability of simple homoclinic cycles in R^5
The paper presents a complete study of simple homoclinic cycles in R^5. We find all symmetry groups Gamma such that a Gamma-equivariant dynamical system in R^5 can possess a simple homoclinic cycle.

Covariant functors and asymptotic stability
Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, I and J ideals of R and M a finitely generated R-module. Let F be a covariant R-linear functor from the category of finitely generated R-modules to itself. We first show that if F is coherent, then the sets of associated primes of F(M/I^n M) and F(I^n-1 M / I^n M) and the J-depths of F(M/I^n M) and F(I^n-1 M / I ...

Stability Analysis for a Class of Stochastic Differential Equations with Impulses
This paper is concerned with the problem of asymptotic stability for a class of stochastic differential equations with impulsive effects. A sufficient criterion on asymptotic stability is derived for such impulsive stochastic differential equations via ...

Convergence results for continuous-time dynamics arising in ant colony optimization
This paper studies the asymptotic behavior of several continuous-time dynamical systems which are analogs of ant colony optimization algorithms that solve shortest path problems. Local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium corresponding to the shortest

Asymptotic stability for dynamic equations on time scales
We examine the conditions of asymptotic stability of second-order linear dynamic equations on time scales. To establish asymptotic stability we prove the stability estimates by using integral representations of the solutions via asymptotic solutions ...

Global asymptotic stability of inhomogeneous iterates
Let (M,d) be a finite-dimensional complete metric space, and {Tn} a sequence of uniformly convergent operators on M. We study the non-autonomous discrete dynamical system xn+1=Tnxn and the globally asymptotic stability of the inhomogeneous iterates of ...

The asymptotic stability analysis in stochastic logistic model with Poisson growth coefficient
The asymptotic stability of a discrete logistic model with random growth coefficient is studied in this paper. Firstly, the discrete logistic model with random growth coefficient is built and reduced into its deterministic equivalent system by orthogonal

Solving nonlinear problems through linearization.Although the linearization process is local, under certain conditions, linearization within the local neighborhood of some solution may not affect the original equations.Based on this idea,we consider the ...

Likelihood Adaptively Modified Penalties [PDF]
A new family of penalty functions, adaptive to likelihood, is introduced for model selection in general regression models. It arises naturally through assuming certain types of prior distribution on the regression parameters.

Stability of a Functional Differential System with a Finite Number of Delays
The paper is devoted to the study of asymptotic properties of a real two-dimensional differential system with unbounded nonconstant delays. The sufficient conditions for the stability and asymptotic stability of solutions are given.
