Nonlinear wave effects at the non-reflecting beach [PDF]
Nonlinear effects at the bottom profile of convex shape (non-reflecting beach) are studied using asymptotic approach (nonlinear WKB approximation) and direct perturbation theory. In the asymptotic approach the nonlinearity leads to the generation of high-

Our purpose in this article is to study the asymptotic behavior of undamped evolution equations with fading memory on time-dependent spaces. By means of the theory of processes on time-dependent spaces, asymptotic a priori estimate and the technique of ...

Asymptotic completeness in dissipative scattering theory
We consider an abstract pseudo-Hamiltonian for the nuclear optical model, given by a dissipative operator of the form $H = H_V - i C^* C$, where $H_V = H_0 + V$ is self-adjoint and $C$ is a bounded operator.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Asymptotic theory for thin two-ply shells
We develop an asymptotic model for the finite-deformation, small-strain response of thin laminated shells composed of two perfectly bonded laminae that exhibit reflection symmetry of the material properties with respect to an interfacial surface.

Asymptotic Flatness, Little String Theory, and Holography [PDF]
We argue that any non-gravitational holographic dual to asymptotically flat string theory in $d$-dimensions naturally resides at spacelike infinity. Since spacelike infinity can be resovled as a $(d-1)$-dimensional timelike hyperboloid (i.e., as a copy ...

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Asymptotic Hodge Theory of Vector Bundles
We introduce several families of filtrations on the space of vector bundles over a smooth projective variety. These filtrations are defined using the large k asymptotics of the kernel of the Dolbeault Dirac operator on a bundle twisted by the kth power ...

Asymptotics for penalized additive B-spline regression [PDF]
This paper is concerned with asymptotic theory for penalized spline estimator in bivariate additive model. The focus of this paper is put upon the penalized spline estimator obtained by the backfitting algorithm.

IN a previous communication1, an asymptotic theory was outlined for the probabilistic behaviour of a finite dam or reservoir subject to random input and output. A further problem raised by Herman Rubin—that of the amount of water lost by overflow—may be solved by similar methods.
