Fractional Sturm–Liouville Eigenvalue Problems, II
We continue the study of a non-self-adjoint fractional three-term Sturm–Liouville boundary value problem (with a potential term) formed by the composition of a left Caputo and left Riemann–Liouville fractional integral under Dirichlet type boundary ...

ALTERNATIVE ASYMPTOTICS AND THE PARTIALLY LINEAR MODEL WITH MANY REGRESSORS [PDF]
Many empirical studies estimate the structural effect of some variable on an outcome of interest while allowing for many covariates. We present inference methods that account for many covariates.

We discuss in detail the asymptotic distribution of sample expectiles. First, we show uniform consistency under the assumption of a finite mean. In case of a finite second moment, we show that for expectiles other then the mean, only the additional assumption of continuity of the distribution function at the expectile implies asymptotic normality ...

High-Dimensional Asymptotics of Prediction: Ridge Regression and Classification [PDF]
We provide a unified analysis of the predictive risk of ridge regression and regularized discriminant analysis in a dense random effects model. We work in a high-dimensional asymptotic regime where $p, n \to \infty$ and $p/n \to \gamma \in (0, \, \infty)$

Application of uniform asymptotics to the fifth Painlevé transcendant
We apply the uniform asymptotics method to the fifth Painlevé transcendants, find its asymptotics of the form y=−1+t−1/2A(t) as t→∞ along the positive t-axis, and obtain the corresponding monodromy data.

On Asymptotics and Resurgent Structures of Enumerative Gromov-Witten Invariants [PDF]
Making use of large-order techniques in asymptotics and resurgent analysis, this work addresses the growth of enumerative Gromov-Witten invariants---in their dependence upon genus and degree of the embedded curve---for several different threefold Calabi ...

Meanders: exact asymptotics [PDF]
We conjecture that meanders are governed by the gravitational version of a c=-4 two-dimensional conformal field theory, allowing for exact predictions for the meander configuration exponent =\sqrt{29}(\sqrt{29}+\sqrt{5})/12, and the semi-meander exponent {\bar }=1+\sqrt{11}(\sqrt{29}+\sqrt{5})/24.

A refined asymptotics of the Jacobi theta functions and their logarithmic derivatives have been received. The asymptotics of the Nevanlinna characteristics of the indicated functions and the arbitrary elliptic function have been found.

Infinity in string cosmology: A review through open problems [PDF]
We review recent developments in the field of string cosmology with particular emphasis on open problems having to do mainly with geometric asymptotics and singularities.

Asymptotics of density distributions, momentum distributions and form factors of three-nucleon nuclei [PDF]
The structure functions of three-nucleon nuclei 3H and 3He are investigated, and asymptotics of density distributions of nucleons at large distances are established using bound state wave functions with high precision.
