Asynchronous motors

2023
The asynchronous or induction motors work thanks to Faraday's law of induction (the induced electromotive force in a winding is proportional to the rate of change of its magnetic flux linkage) and Lenz's principle that the related induced current flowing in the winding produces a magnetic field which opposes the initial changing of the magnetic field ...

Energy-saving asynchronous motors

Russian Electrical Engineering, 2009
The results of activities on creating asynchronous motors with rotor cast copper windings in Ukraine, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Brazil, and India are analyzed. Tests have shown that motors have higher efficiency and higher useful power than analogs.

Asynchronous dielectric induction motor

IEE Proceedings A (Physical Science, Measurement and Instrumentation, Management and Education), 1990
A small electrostatic induction motor has been constructed, consisting of a cylindrical stator with 24 bars, forming eight pitches of three bars each, adjacent bars being connected in sequence to the lines of a three-phase 50 Hz voltage supply of 1400 V/sub RMS/ line-to-line.

Asynchronous motor with spiral sheet armature. Improvement of the functional characteristics of the asynchronous motors

ICEMS'2001. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.01EX501), 2002
The study of the magnetic characteristics and constructive shapes of conductive materials, allows a better use of its electrical characteristics, reducing the maintenance and extending the life of the electrical machines. The improvements obtained on the torque with low currents using rotor with spiral sheets (with its different magnetic variants) are ...

Prospects of constructing 20 kV asynchronous motors

IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2009
20 kV distribution networks with all its components, such as transformers, switches, cables etc., have existed and been operating safely for many decades. From an economic point of view, it would be convenient to replace the transformer-motor combination by just a single 20 kV asynchronous motor, even if the motor itself were more expensive.

Inverter-Fed Asynchronous Motors for Traction Systems

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1977
Publisher Summary Variable-frequency inverter-fed asynchronous motor constitutes, in the field of electric traction, an effective option to traditional d.c. motor. The success of this equipment is connected to the advantages the squirrel cage asynchronous motor may provide lower weight and small dimensions, higher power at high speed, less ...

INCREMENTAL MOTION CONTROL SYSTEM WITH ASYNCHRONOUS MOTOR

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract The possibilities of incremental motion control, with asynchronous motors are discussed. Various dc link static converters are shown, which provide the motor step by step operation, when the discrete information items into elementary displacements of the rotor are converted. An analytical expression of the electromagnetic torque developed by

Dynamic behavior of a multi-phase asynchronous motor

2009 European Control Conference (ECC), 2009
The goal of this paper is the analysis of the dynamic behavior of a multi-phase asynchronous motor. The Power-Oriented Graphs technique has been used for modeling the system and a very simple and compact model has been obtained. The steady-state equations of the system have been studied finding remarkable relations between the motor voltage and current

Asynchronous performance of hysteresis motor

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1975
Abstract A simplified model of the hysteresis motor is introduced and analyzed; field analysis is undertaken at hand of Maxwell's stress tensor and Poynting's theorem. The suggested approach provides deeper insight into the power interchange process between stator and rotor.
