Use of a Cytobrush for Sampling the Ear Canal of Dogs With Otitis Externa. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Dermatol
Cytological examination of the ear canal is essential for evaluating dogs with otitis externa (OE). The conventional sampling method uses a swab. However, the cytobrush (gynaecological cervical brush), already used for cytological collection from other anatomical sites, has not been adequately investigated for this purpose in dogs with OE.

Development of a Genetically Encoded and Potent PDE6D Inhibitor. [PDF]

open access: yesChembiochem
PDE6D is a trafficking chaperone of prenylated proteins. Current small molecule PDE6D inhibitors target its hydrophobic pocket, rendering them typically poorly water soluble. Herein, PDE6D binders are generated by combining parts of the K‐Ras4B and INPP5E C‐termini. The genetically encoded high‐affinity PDE6D inhibitor SNAP‐STI is thus generated.

Efficacy of Interventions to Promote Exercise Adherence in People With Overweight or Obesity: A Systematic Review. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Obes
Background The World Health Organization estimates that more than 500 million people will be affected by diseases related to physical inactivity in the next decade. Individuals with overweight or obesity are particularly vulnerable, making exercise adherence a critical public health concern.

A case of frontal lobe seizures with 'dancing-like' semiology. [PDF]

open access: yesEur J Neurol
Abstract Background and purpose ‘Dancing‐like’ semiology is extremely rare and described in few case reports. It is characterized by rhythmic, oscillatory movements of the pelvis and/or limbs during which the subject appears to be dancing. It has been associated with both the frontal and temporal epileptic zone; however, the possible network involved ...

Thermodynamic versus kinetic basis for the high conformational stability of nanobodies for therapeutic applications. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Lett
Nanobodies (NB) are attractive tools for biotechnological and therapeutic applications. NB have high stability, but their denaturation mechanism is unclear. We show that three NB with therapeutic potential and structural similarity largely differ in their thermodynamic stability in a wide range of temperatures.

Dupilumab as an Adjunct to Oral Immunotherapy in Pediatric Patients With Peanut Allergy. [PDF]

open access: yesAllergy
Dupilumab in combination with OIT was well tolerated in children and adolescent patients with peanut allergy, and safety was consistent with the known dupilumab safety profile. A greater number of patients passed a DBPCFC during the OIT up‐dosing period with continuous dupilumab + OIT treatment versus continuous OIT.

Noninvasive Methods Unveil the Trophic Transmission of the Tapeworm Ligula intestinalis in Gull-Billed Terns. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Using both copromicroscopic (Mini‐FLOTAC) and molecular (qPCR) techniques, we detected and quantified the macroparasite Ligula intestinalis in Gull‐billed Terns for the first time. Phylogenetic analyses revealed genetic similarities among parasite isolates from birds (definitive hosts) and fish prey (intermediate hosts), suggesting local infection from

C9orf72 Repeat Expansion Induces Metabolic Dysfunction in Human iPSC‐Derived Microglia and Modulates Glial‐Neuronal Crosstalk

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 1, January 2026.
C9orf72 microglia display heightened glycolysis and oxidative stress, driving astrocytic reprogramming that impacts motor neurons. iPSC tricultures uncover key glial–neuronal interactions in C9orf72 pathology. ABSTRACT The C9orf72 hexanucleotide repeat expansion mutation is the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and ...
