The development of the olfactory organ in the rainbow fish, Nematocentris maccullochi, was studied using scanning and transmission electron microscopy; it was compared with the developmental process in other teleosts, especially in the closely related atherinids and cyprinodonts.

Structure and arrangement of the teeth were studied in the hemiramphid Dermogenys pusillus, using scanning electron microscopy as well as cleared and stained specimens. The teeth of the jaws are small, monocuspid, and tilted towards the esophagus. They are arranged along the lateral edges of the premaxillas and dentaries.

The development of the dentition and dentigerous bones was studied in the hemiraphid Dermogenys pusillus using histological sections, scanning electron microscopy, and cleared and stained specimens. Five days after birth, the toothless tip of the lower jaw begins to grow longer than the tip of the upper jaw.

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2015
In this study, the complete mitogenome sequence of the Parkinson's Rainbowfish, Melanotaenia parkinsoni (Atheriniformes: Melanotaeniidae) has been sequenced by next-generation sequencing method. The assembled mitogenome is 16 529 bp in length including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs and 2 ribosomal RNAs genes. The overall base composition of
