This paper highlights the relevance of analyzing entangled territorialities and Indigenous use of maps in order to better understand what Lévy describes in terms of “spatial capital”—the socio‐economic dynamics and power relationships maintained and negotiated between the stakeholders interacting within the Indigenous forestland.

Le canot est un symbole folklorique et populaire important en Amérique du Nord pour la majorité d’ascendance européenne. L’étude des expéditions de canotage contemporaines organisées par les peuples autochtones permet d’élargir l’horizon de compréhension de ce que peut signifier le symbole du canot et sa pratique en contexte canadien et québécois.
