A High-Resolution Future Wave Climate Projection for the Coastal Northwestern Atlantic [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A high-resolution wave climate projection for the northwestern Atlantic Ocean has been conducted to help assess possible regional impacts due to global climate change. The spectral wave model NOAA WAVEWATCH III is utilized with three coupled (two-way) grids to resolve the northwestern Atlantic and coastal southern and eastern USA at approximately 21 km

Reproductive systems of Hohenbergia Schult. & Schult.f. (Bromelioideae: Bromeliaceae) endemic to the Atlantic forest

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Many species of the Bromeliaceae are under threat due to the fragmentation and anthropogenic pressure affecting the Atlantic Forest highlight the need to conservation efforts. The genus Hohenbergia deserves special attention in this context, as the Hohenbergia stellata complex includes endemic species that rely on diverse reproductive strategies, which

El Nino Southern Oscillation and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation Impact on Hurricanes North Atlantic Basin [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Tropical cyclones (TCs), including hurricanes and typhoons, cause significant property damage and result in fatalities, making it crucial to understand the factors driving extreme TCs. The El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) influences TC formation through tropospheric vorticity, wind shear, and atmospheric circulations. Apart from atmospheric changes,
