Optimizing quinoa growth cycle duration in northeast England by varying the sowing date
Abstract Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) is attracting interest as a key contributor to global food and nutritional security. This study evaluated the effects of and interactions between sowing date (mid‐April vs. early May) and variety (‘Atlas’ and ‘Jessie’) on the performance of quinoa in northeast England over three seasons (2016–2018).

The role of the power law exponent in wind energy assessment: A global analysis
The errors in wind potential assessments resulting from applying the mean of the power law exponent or a value of 0.14 were assessed. Onshore, for the estimation of the capacity factor the absolute percentage errors are 5.5% and 36.9%. Summary The power law is most often applied to extrapolate the near‐surface wind speed to the wind turbine hub height.

Introduction. Mutations in the BRAF, NRAS, and C‐KIT genes have been associated with the histopathological characteristics of melanoma. Likewise, the incidence of each of these subtypes changes according to the geographical origin of the population analyzed. Objective. To determine the mutation frequency in exons 11 and 15 of the BRAF gene, exons 1 and

Using structural equation models, we show that Malagasy assemblages with higher human pressure have smaller maximum seed sizes, especially through downsizing of extant frugivores. Furthermore, among assemblages with ‘mega‐seeded’ plants (i.e., seeds that cannot be swallowed by any extant Malagasy frugivore), larger seed sizes are associated with larger
