Background. Stroke is a rare complication of COVID‐19. Post‐COVID‐19 stroke occurs mainly in older patients who have preexisting vascular risk factors. Most strokes are possibly related to hypercoagulability associated with COVID‐19 where elevated D‐dimer levels were the most common finding.
