Heavy ions in Jupiter's environment [PDF]
The extended atmosphere of the Jupiter system consists of atoms and ions of heavy elements. This material originates on the satellite Io. Energy is lost from the thermal plasma in collisionally excited optical and ultraviolet emission.

Effect of initial conditions on deduced atmosphere for Uranus and Jupiter entries [PDF]
Atmosphere reconstruction based on the data from a probe is discussed in terms of the effect of errors in entry velocity and entry flight path angle on the determination of density, pressure, and temperature as functions of altitude.

Modelling of the Jupiter's atmospheric dynamics
The extremely dynamic atmosphere of Jupiter is characterised by alternated jets, a strong convective activity and an equatorial super-rotation whose formation mechanisms are poorly understood. In this thesis, we adopt a numerical modelling approach of the jovian weather layer to investigate those formation mechanisms.

Temperatures of Jupiter’s Upper Atmosphere: The Role of the Planetary Magnetic Field
The primary source of heating in the upper atmospheres (thermospheres) of giant planets has been the subject of long debate. The conundrum (or “energy crisis”) consists in observed thermosphere temperatures at low and midlatitudes exceeding values ...

From Tides to Currents: Unraveling the Mechanism that Powers WASP-107b’s Internal Heat Flux
The sub-Jovian exoplanet WASP-107b ranks among the best-characterized low-density worlds, featuring a Jupiter-like radius and a mass that lies firmly in the sub-Saturn range.

Self-sterilization of bodies during outer planet entry [PDF]
A body encountering the atmosphere of an outer planet is subjected to heat loads which could result in high temperature conditions that render terrestrial organisms on or within the body nonviable. To determine whether an irregularly shaped entering body,
