High-capacity atmospheric-vacuum crude distillation unit
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1972The atmospheric section of a large combination atmospheric-vacuum crude oil distillation unit has been put into service. In the unit, wide use is made of air-cooled condensers, valve-type fractionating trays, new automatic control instruments, and other equipment that has demonstrated reliability in service and has ensured successful operation of the ...

A Sub-Atmospheric Solar Distillation Unit
International Journal of Solar Energy, 1987Abstract This paper describes the design, manufacture and performance of a new type of solar distillation unit. The unit operates at a pressure below the atmospheric and utilizes a flat-plate collector. The designed unit is intended for an experimental purpose and operates on draw and fill or non-flow basis.

Atmospheric polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in the United Kingdom
Environmental Pollution, 2012The occurrence of PBDEs has been studied in the atmosphere of four sites in the United Kingdom over a period of ten years. The concentrations have exhibited a sharp decrease after 2001-2003. This is evident in the urban sites of Manchester and London and at the semi-rural site of Hazelrigg. The average ΣPBDE half-lives for these three sites were 3.4, 2.

Acid inputs from the atmosphere in the United Kingdom
Soil Use and Management, 1985Abstract. Inputs of acidity to the ground arise through two distinct routes: wet deposition which includes all acidity deposited in rain and snow and dry deposition, the direct sorption of SO 2 , NO 2 or HNO 3

Symbols, Units and Nomenclature for Atmospheric Transmission
Optical Engineering, 1966This report discusses concepts, symbols, units and nomenclature for describing the transmission of radiant flux through earth's variable density atmosphere. The geometrical concepts used in the field of photometry and radiometry are the same. A common set of symbols is proposed for use in both fields together with some terms not previously used.
