ON THE DESIGN FLEXIBILITY OF ATMOSPHERIC CRUDE FRACTIONATION UNITS

Chemical Engineering Communications, 1998
Abstract This paper is devoted to study the effect of the design parameters on atmospheric crude distillation units. The following conclusions are obtained: Pump-around circuits play only a role in energy integration, but they have imperceptible effects on the separation goals.

Natural sulfur emissions to the atmosphere of the continental United States

Global Biogeochemical Cycles, 1992
Seasonal emissions of biogenic sulfur gases from marine and terrestrial sources were assessed for 13 regions of the continental United States. The resulting inventory was compared to volcanic and anthropogenic sulfur emissions from the same regions. Terrestrial biogenic sulfur emissions were less than 1% of the total sulfur emissions in each region ...

Suggested Units for Quantities Related to Visibility in the Atmosphere

Journal of the Air Pollution Control Association, 1984
When interpreting data for the scattering, absorption, or extinction of light in the atmosphere by aerosols, it is often useful to report data for the effectiveness of the aerosol in causing these phenomena. Depending on whether the mass or volume concentration of the aerosol is known, this can be done by reporting values for the cross section per unit

Units For Column Amounts of Ozone and Other Atmospheric Gases

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1982
AbstractThis paper points out the unsatisfactory character of the units for expressing column amounts of atmospheric ozone (i.e., total ozone), it examines a number of alternative units suitable for column amounts of not only ozone but any gas in any planetary atmosphere, and it argues the case for using the SI derived unit of mole per square metre.
