Narrow-K-Band Observations of the GJ 1214 System [PDF]
GJ 1214 is a nearby M dwarf star that hosts a transiting super-Earth-size planet, making this system an excellent target for atmospheric studies. Most studies find that the transmission spectrum of GJ 1214b is flat, which favors either a high mean molecular weight or cloudy/hazy hydrogen (H) rich atmosphere model. Photometry at short wavelengths (< 0.7

Simulation of Inhomogeneous Refractive Index Fields Induced by Hot Tailored Forming Components
This article presents a simulation model for simulating inhomogeneous refractive index fields (IRIF) in hot‐forged components, accounting for thermal influences and complex geometries. Through this simulation, a priori knowledge about the propagation of the IRIF can be obtained, allowing for the positioning of the component or an optical measurement ...

Contributors of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in Europe [PDF]
Carbon dioxide, along with atmospheric temperature are interacting to cause what we have defined as global warming. In the present study we develop a statistical model using real data to identify the attributable variables (risk factors) that cause the CO2 emissions in the atmosphere in Europe.

Quantifying and Predicting the Presence of Clouds in Exoplanet Atmospheres [PDF]
One of the most outstanding issues in exoplanet characterization is understanding the prevalence of obscuring clouds and hazes in their atmospheres. The ability to predict the presence of clouds/hazes a priori is an important goal when faced with limited telescope resources and advancements in atmospheric characterization that rely on the detection of ...

This article examines the effect of postprocessing heat treatment on 316L stainless steel (SS316L) produced via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Heat treatment slightly affects property anisotropy, reduces strength, and enhances elongation. However, it increases corrosion susceptibility due to nanoscale precipitations, though overall corrosion ...

KupferDigital: Ontology‐Based Digital Representation for the Copper Life Cycle
It is demonstrated how data from different stages in the life cycle of a copper product can be stored in an ontology‐based data space. In order to showcase the methods and tools used in the project, four use cases are presented that show how data from different sources can be semantically described and queried from a shared data space.

The combination of battery product and characterization ontology (BPCO) and domain knowledge guides hypotheses development and leads to new insights into material–property relationship of battery materials. The use of “intermediate data” is introduced as a concept, and examples are shown on its use to analyze the agglomeration of carbon black and its ...
