THE COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF THE TERRESTRIAL ATMOSPHERE
1963Abstract : After a generel description of the various regions of the terrestrial atmospbere, an analysis of physical conditions leading to the knowledge of the heterosphere is given. Molecular dissociation and diffusion in the lower thermosphere are introduced to determine the concentration of various constituents (N2, O2, O, N, He, H).

An Introduction to Measurements of Atmospheric Composition
2010This chapter reviews the basic concepts under the measurements of atmospheric composition. The major challenges are discussed, including the low concentration (usually less than one part per million) of interesting trace gases and the interference among the thousands of species involved in the atmosphere chemistry.

Atmospheric Scales of Motion and Atmospheric Composition
2000Weather phenomena occur over a very broad range of scales of space and time, from the global circulation systems that extend around the earth’s circumference to the small eddies that cause cigarette smoke to swirl and mix with clear air. Each circulation can be described in terms of its approximate horizontal diameter and lifetime.

Atmospheric Composition Change
2012Chemically active climate compounds are either primary compounds like methane (CH4), removed by oxidation in the atmosphere, or secondary compounds like ozone (O-3), sulfate and organic aerosols, both formed and removed in the atmosphere. Man-induced climate-chemistry interaction is a two-way process: Emissions of pollutants change the atmospheric ...
