The Composition of Atmospheric Air
1951For many reasons it is desirable to have a complete knowledge of the composition of the atmosphere as regards both the molecular species present and their absolute quantities. This applies not only to the main components, but also to rare species of polyatomic molecules whose importance in the radiation balance is often quite out of proportion to their

An Introduction to Measurements of Atmospheric Composition
2010This chapter reviews the basic concepts under the measurements of atmospheric composition. The major challenges are discussed, including the low concentration (usually less than one part per million) of interesting trace gases and the interference among the thousands of species involved in the atmosphere chemistry.

THE COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF THE TERRESTRIAL ATMOSPHERE
1963Abstract : After a generel description of the various regions of the terrestrial atmospbere, an analysis of physical conditions leading to the knowledge of the heterosphere is given. Molecular dissociation and diffusion in the lower thermosphere are introduced to determine the concentration of various constituents (N2, O2, O, N, He, H).
