Atmospheric Corrections

2023
This document is the deliverable D2.3 of the Water-ForCE Coordination and Support Action (CSA). It aims to give an overview of the atmospheric corrections currently used by the Copernicus services for water products, the state-of-the-art, needs and recommendations related to atmospheric corrections for water.

Atmospheric correction: Computing atmospheric diffuse transmittance

Atmospheric Research, 2006
If we can accurately compute the leaving-water radiance and atmospheric diffuse transmittance, we will accurately retrieve the atmosphere optical properties over the case II water by MODIS image. According to the paper by Wang [Wang, Menghua, 1999. Atmospheric correction of ocean color sensors: computing atmospheric diffuse transmittance. Appl. Opt. 38,

ACIX – Atmospheric Atmospheric Correction Inter-comparison eXercise

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
ACIX is international collaborative initiatives to inter-compare a set of atmospheric correction (AC) algorithms for high-spatial resolution optical sensors. The exercises focus on Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8 data over a set of test areas. The inter-comparison contributes to a better understanding of strengths and weaknesses of different algorithms and ...

Atmospheric Correction of Landsat Image

Journal of Environmental and Geographical Studies, 2023
Purpose: The satellite imagery such as Landsat contains water vapour and gases that do interfere with analytical process to lower the result. The research focused on atmospheric corrected and un-corrected image on Normalized Difference Vegetation Index determination.

Atmospheric correction of ASTER

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1998
An atmospheric correction algorithm for operational use for the high-spatial resolution, Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) is presented. The correction is a straightforward approach relying on inputs from other satellite sensors to determine the atmospheric characteristics of the scene to be corrected.
