Time-dependent advanced analysis method for steel truss bridges under atmospheric corrosion

open access: yesAdvances in Bridge Engineering
Atmospheric corrosion is one of the major factors leading to the deterioration of steel truss bridges. In order to overcome this problem, protective coatings are generally applied to steel members.

Prussian Blue Analog as a Functional Additive for Restoring Sulfide Solid Electrolytes: Enhancing Moisture Stability in All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work unveils the multifunctional roles of Prussian blue analogs (PBAs) within the LPSCl matrix, where they act as effective moisture scavengers and enable partial recovery of electrochemical performance. In addition, owing to their relatively soft nature, PBAs help mitigate interfacial stress and thereby enhance electrochemical stability and ...

Performance Constraints of All‐Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells in Low‐Intensity, Low‐Temperature Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
All‐perovskite tandem solar cells are evaluated under low‐intensity and low‐temperature (LILT) conditions relevant to space environments. Distinct loss regimes emerge, where weaker entropic mixing causes halide segragation below ≈240 K going along with a strong current imbalance, while poor electron transport in C60 dominates.

N‐heterocyclic Carbenes as Adhesion Promoters on Aluminum Alloy 6061

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
N‐heterocyclic carbenes as novel non‐toxic surface primers for aluminum alloys for better adhesive bonding, because strong adhesive bonding shouldn't come at the cost of poisoning the human body. The impact of NHC functionalization on adhesive joint strength and durability is also evaluated using a single‐lap‐shear test, following continuous exposure ...

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery
