Mercury deposition in southern New Hampshire, 2006–2009 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The atmospheric deposition of mercury (Hg) occurs via several mechanisms including wet, dry, and occult processes. In an effort to understand the atmospheric cycling and seasonal depositional characteristics of Hg, event-based wet deposition samples and ...

Widespread impacts to precipitation of the East Palestine Ohio train accident

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
On 3 February 2023, a Norfolk Southern train derailment occurred in East Palestine, Ohio. The accident and subsequent fire resulted in the emissions of large amounts of hazardous compounds to the ambient atmosphere over many days.

The spatiotemporal influence of atmospheric nitrogen deposition on basin nitrogen exports based on CMAQ-SWAT model

open access: yesWater Research X
Atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition has become an important non-point source contributing to surface water pollution and a critical challenge in river water quality management.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Atmospheric Hg(0) dry deposition over environmental surfaces: Insights from mercury isotope fractionation

open access: yesEco-Environment & Health
Atmospheric Hg(0) dry deposition is a vital process that significantly affects the global distribution and cycling of Hg. However, significant knowledge gaps and challenges remain in understanding atmospheric Hg(0) deposition and its subsequent post ...

Study on the Characteristics of Heavy Metal Contents and Annual Fluxes of Atmospheric Dry and Wet Deposition in Jinan City Using AFS and ICP-MS

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2015
Atmospheric deposition is an important source of heavy metals in surface soil, the study on the geochemical characteristics and source analysis of heavy metals in atmospheric dust would provide important guidance for pollution prevention. The contents of

Deposition of Aerosols onto Upper Ocean and Their Impacts on Marine Biota

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Atmospheric aerosol deposition (wet and dry) is an important source of macro and micronutrients (N, P, C, Si, and Fe) to the oceans. Most of the mass flux of air particles is made of fine mineral particles emitted from arid or semi-arid areas (e.g ...

Laboratory experiments and models of diffusive emplacement of ground ice on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Experiments demonstrate for the first time the deposition of subsurface ice directly from atmospheric water vapor under Mars surface conditions. Deposition occurs at pressures below the triple point of water and therefore in the absence of a bulk liquid ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.
