Development of a Novel, All‐Aromatic High Tensile Modulus Liquid Crystalline Polyimide for Fused Filament Fabrication Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel, high tensile modulus, fully aromatic thermotropic liquid crystalline polyimide (LCPI) with better solvent resistance and thermal stability is synthesized. Tensile specimens are fabricated using both injection molding and FFF processes, accomplished via lower viscosity enabled by the LC phase.

A sustained oscillation in a toy-model of the coupled atmosphere-ocean system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Interaction between atmospheric mid-latitude flow and wind-driven ocean circulation is studied coupling two idealized low-order spectral models. The barotropic Charney-DeVore model with three components simulates a bimodal mid-latitude atmospheric circulation in a channel with two stable flow patterns induced by topography. The wind-driven ocean double

Dynamics of the Middle Atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1985
In recent years, much effort has been put in the study of chemical, dynamical, and radiative processes in the middle atmosphere. A great deal of activity has been stimulated by the necessity of estimating the potential effects of several anthropogenic perturbations on the ozone layer and on the earth's climate.

Wetting of Surface Grafted Hydrophilic‐b‐Hydrophobic Block Copolymer Brushes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The wetting properties of surface grafted diblock copolymer brushes are influenced by the thickness of the hydrophilic bottom block and the hydrophobic top block. The surface adapts in presence of water and the contact angles of the bottom block shine through. Abstract The wetting of diblock copolymer brushes by water is studied.

Dynamical atmospheric cluster model

open access: yesAtmospheric Research, 2010
Dynamical behavior of atmospheric molecular clusters was investigated. A model was developed to describe the evolution, concentration and sources of atmospheric clusters. The model includes sources of monomers, monomer - i-mer collisions and evaporation of i-mers. The developed model is agile and flexible.

High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Northward Extension of East Asian Summer Monsoon Since the Miocene Set by the Uplift of Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The modern East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) features an extension from tropical to subtropical areas. However, the fundamental process that determines the northward extension of EASM in the geological history remains unclear.
