Wave interference between transient waves and climatological stationary waves is a useful framework for diagnosing the magnitude of stationary waves. Here, we find that the wave interference over the North Pacific Ocean is an important driver of North ...

Highlighting the importance of anode microstructure for alkaline OER, ultrasonic spray coating is applied at two different temperatures. This proof‐of‐concept approach yielded varied morphologies, structures, wettability and mechanical strength. These variations led to noticeable performance changes in activity after 8 h of measurements, comparing the ...

Elucidating Sodium Ion Storage Mechanisms in Hard Carbon Anodes at the Electronic Level
High‐resolution, multi‐frequency continuous wave, and pulsed Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy uncover the intricate Na ion storage mechanisms in hard carbon. This study reveals the coexistence of Na ion intercalation and solvent co‐intercalation, alongside a subsequent transition of Na ions from ionic to quasi‐metallic to metallic ...

Biointerfacing with AgBiS2 Quantum Dots for Pseudocapacitive Photostimulation
It is demonstrated that AgBiS2 quantum dots exhibit unique photoinduced pseudocapacitive charge transfer properties, enabling efficient light‐to‐electrical energy conversion. These quantum dots facilitate enhanced light absorption and transduction when integrated with ZnO nanowires, which serve as an effective charge transport medium.

The UM, a fully--compressible, non--hydrostatic, deep atmosphere GCM, applied to hot Jupiters [PDF]
We are adapting the Global Circulation Model (GCM) of the UK Met Office, the so--called Unified Model (UM), for the study of hot Jupiters. In this work we demonstrate the successful adaptation of the most sophisticated dynamical core, the component of the GCM which solves the equations of motion for the atmosphere, available within the UM, ENDGame ...

The dynamics of planetary atmospheres
Current knowledge of the dynamics of the atmospheres of the planets is reviewed. This has expanded a great deal in recent years, due to the numerous space missions which have gathered new observational data. Nevertheless, there is also much which remains unknown, and many cases where new observations have simply posed additional questions of a ...
