Versatile Selective Soldering via Molten Metal Printing for Heat‐Sensitive 3D Electronics and Smart Wearables

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Selective soldering via molten metal printing enables component integration, even in heat‐sensitive applications across fields like additive manufacturing, sustainable electronics, and smart textiles. This method overcomes the temperature limitations of existing technologies.

High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Switching From Acceptor to FRET Donor: How the Organic Solar Cell Architecture Can Change the Role of a Chromophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

Toward Architected Microstructures Using Advanced Laser Beam Shaping in Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Ti‐6Al‐4V

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research applies advanced laser beam shaping (LCoS‐SLM) to fabricate the Ti‐6Al‐4V alloy via laser powder bed fusion. A tailored beam is used to prevent martensite formation and create a dual α+β microstructure by controlling cooling rates.

The Cosmic Shoreline Revisited: A Metric for Atmospheric Retention Informed by Hydrodynamic Escape [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The "cosmic shoreline", a semi-empirical relation that separates airless worlds from worlds with atmospheres as proposed by Zahnle & Catling (2017), is now guiding large-scale JWST surveys aimed at detecting rocky exoplanet atmospheres. We expand upon this framework by revisiting the shorelines using existing hydrodynamic escape models applied to Earth-

The Impact of Assimilating Cirrus‐Effected Infrared Satellite Radiance From the FY‐4A AGRI on Water Vapor Analysis and Rainstorm Forecasting

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
In this study, a method for assimilating FY4A advanced geostationary radiance imager (AGRI) cirrus‐effected radiances (CER) is investigated, and the impact of this method on water vapor analysis and rainstorm forecasting is examined through observing ...
