Enhanced “Wind‐Evaporation Effect” Drove the “Deep‐Tropical Contraction” in the Early Eocene

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The equatorward contraction of tropical precipitation, commonly referred to as the “deep‐tropical contraction”, is witnessed in the paleoclimate simulations of the early Eocene. However, the mechanism driving this contraction is still unclear.

Bacteria‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle as A “Trojan Horse” for Selective M1 Macrophage‐Targeting in A Multi‐Cellular Entanglement Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

Low‐Surface‐Energy Copper Promotes Atomic Diffusion and Ordering in PtFeCu Intermetallic Compounds for Oxygen Reduction Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A copper‐induced atom ordering strategy is developed for the reconstruction of raw commercial Pt catalyst into ordered PtFeCu intermetallic compounds for hydrogen fuel cells. Abstract Carbon‐supported platinum intermetallic compound nanoparticles are seen as the next‐generation cathodic catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells due to their high activity and ...

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.
