Performance of free space optical communication using M-array receivers at atmospheric conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
: In free space optical (FSO) communication links, atmospheric parameters including absorption, scattering and turbulence have significant impacts on the quality of laser beams propagating through the atmosphere.

Effects for atmospheric neutrino experiments from electron neutrino oscillations

open access: yes, 1997
The minimal interpretation of the atmospheric neutrino data suggests that the muon neutrino oscillates into another species with a mixing angle close to the maximal $\pi/4$.

Atmospheric Effects at Sunset [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1888
ON Sunday, January 8, upon leaving the house at half-past four in the afternoon, I observed that the clouds were suffused with a kind of pink or lurid coppery tinge, a sort of angry sunset tint spread over the whole sky. The clouds were of the stratus type which is common in a winter anticyclone, but were moving or rather driving with a swiftness quite

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...

Ambipolar Electric Field, Photoelectrons, and their Role in Atmospheric Escape From Hot-jupiters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Atmospheric mass-loss from Hot-jupiters can be large due to the close proximity of these planets to their host star and the strong radiation the planetary atmosphere receives.
