Electric Mode Excitation in the Atmosphere by Magnetospheric Impulses and ULF Waves
Variations of vertical atmospheric electric field Ez have been attributed mainly to meteorological processes. On the other hand, the theory of electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere, between the bottom ionosphere and earth’s surface, predicts two modes,

Trends and Features of Thunderstorms and Lightning Activity in the Upper Volga Region
An increase in the frequency of atmospheric hazards in a changing climate has attracted interest in the study of regional features of mesoscale convective systems and trends of lightning activity. Severe convective storms are the most destructive weather

The atmospheric electric field in Athens-Greece
In the present study, the daily, annual and seasonal variations of the electric field in Athens-Greece, for all weather as well as for fair weather conditions, for the 16-years period 1965–1980 were examined. The daily variation of the electric field follows a double oscillation.

The induced electric field distribution in the solar atmosphere [PDF]
A method of calculating induced electric field is presented in this paper. Induced electric field in solar atmosphere is derived by the time variation of magnetic field when the charged particle accumulation is neglected. In order to get the spatial distribution of magnetic field, several extrapolation methods are introduced.

Ambipolar Electric Field, Photoelectrons, and their Role in Atmospheric Escape From Hot-jupiters [PDF]
Atmospheric mass-loss from Hot-jupiters can be large due to the close proximity of these planets to their host star and the strong radiation the planetary atmosphere receives.

Isotropic Irradiation Model from Atmospheric Discharges Using Local Atmospheric Electric Field Data
Using a local atmospheric electric field sensor network (Field Mill), an electromagnetic link model was proposed considering a free space electric field and a theoretical electric field calculated from an atmospheric discharge. With this, it was possible

Development of Wireless Electric Field Mill for Atmospheric Electric Field Observation
Rotating-vane electric field mill (REFM) sensor is one of the popular methods to measure atmospheric quasi-static electric field. Lightning incident occasion can be predicted by observing electric fields strength in atmosphere. In this paper an integration of REFM with an online wireless data monitoring system for long distance observation and data ...
