Optical diagnostics of the atmosphere
Russian Physics Journal, 1998The theoretical principles of the method of polarized laser probing of an aspherical atmospheric aerosol, oriented in space, are considered. An approach to estimating the effectness of methods of spectroscopic diagnostics of organic molecules, based on the study of photophysical processes occurring in them, is described.

By means of a telescopic photometer measurements were made in daylight of b, the brightness of a large approximately blackbody at a distance d=3.2 km, and of h, the brightness of the sky just above the blackbody. For visual ranges v from 3.2 to 15 km the measurements agreed with the theoretical relations v=(1/β) log 1/η and β=(1/d) log (1/(1−b/h ...

Optical Properties of the Atmosphere
1968Abstract : An understanding of the interaction between infrared radiation and the earth's atmosphere is necessary in a number of disciplines. Data pertinent to this problem have been and will be obtained by recording the solar spectrum in various wavelength intervals at various altitudes above the earth's surface during a series of balloon flights ...

Optical Properties of the Atmosphere
2017Many properties of the atmosphere affect the quality of images propagating through it. There are atmospheric phenomena that give rise to attenuation of the irradiance of the propagating image, thus reducing the contrast of the final image. There are also atmospheric phenomena that cause blurring of detail.
