NeRT: Implicit Neural Representations for Unsupervised Atmospheric Turbulence Mitigation
2023 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2023The atmospheric turbulence mitigation problem has emerged as a challenging inverse problem in the communities of computer vision and optics. However, current methods either rely heavily on the quality of the training dataset or fail to generalize over ...

Applied Optics, 1991
A brief historical overview of the atmospheric optical phenomena that appear in works of fine art is presented. It is shown that artists have recorded many features of the color and brightness of the sky and clouds, aerial perspective and visibility effects, and phenomena, including crepuscular rays, rainbows, halos, and coronas.

Remote atmospheric optical magnetometry
Journal of Applied Physics, 2014In this paper, an analysis of a remote atmospheric magnetometry concept is considered, using molecular oxygen as the paramagnetic species. The objective is to use this mechanism for the remote detection of underwater and underground objects. Kerr self-focusing is used to bring a polarized, high-intensity, laser pulse to focus at a remote detection site
