UV Rayleigh–Mie Raman Lidar for Simultaneous Measurement of Atmospheric Temperature and Relative Humidity Profiles in the Troposphere

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2005
A Rayleigh–Mie Raman lidar system at a wavelength of 355 nm has been upgraded for simultaneous measurements of atmospheric temperature, relative humidity and aerosol profiles in the troposphere. Temperature is determined from the Rayleigh spectral linewidth.

A preliminary evaluation of a low cost UAV platform for vertical profiling of the atmospheric Temperature and Relative humidity.

2023
The present study is a preliminary study in order to evaluate a low cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) performing vertical profiling of the atmospheric temperature and humidity, using additional sensor miniature data loggers. The performance of the UAV platform was tested multiple times during a hovering procedure and a vertical profiling procedure ...

MARIAH-A Similarity-Based Method for Determining Wind, Temperature, and Humidity Profile Structure in the Atmospheric Surface Layer

Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1995
Abstract Methodology for determining the similarity scaling constants for wind, temperature, and specific humidity from micrometeorological tower data is presented. The equations and the approach for solving them are referred to as MARIAH. The MARIAH solution is much simpler than using the traditional O'KEYPS functions primarily due to the elimination ...

Spaceborne profiling of atmospheric temperature and particle extinction with pure rotational Raman lidar and of relative humidity in combination with differential absorption lidar: performance simulations--erratum

Applied Optics, 2006
The performance of a spaceborne temperature lidar based on the pure rotational Raman (RR) technique in the UV has been simulated. Results show that such a system deployed onboard a low-Earth-orbit satellite would provide global-scale clear-sky temperature measurements in the troposphere and lower stratosphere with precisions that satisfy World ...

Differential absorption lidar in space for temperature and humidity profiles in the atmosphere.

1984
Computer simulations of the differential absorption lidar (DIAL) technique in a space craft for the purpose of temperature and humidity profiling indicate: 1) current technology applied to O2 and H2O lines in the 0.7 to 0.8 micrometre wavelength band gives sufficiently high signal-to-noise ratios if backscattering is high; 2) the impact of short term ...

Use of Atmospheric Refraction to Determine Air Mass and Extinction Coefficients as Well as Temperature and Humidity Profiles in the Marine Boundary Layer

1997
Abstract : Our long term goals are to develop algorithms and techniques to extract as many atmospheric parameters as possible, such as air mass and extinction coefficients as well as temperature and humidity profiles, in the marine boundary layer by comparing both actual and apparent heights shapes and brightness of objects lying close to the horizon ...
