On the relay propagation of deep convection leading to a heavy rainfall event in a weak‐wind urban environment

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
By examining the downstream propagation of convective storms developed along a city belt leading to a heavy rainfall event at a remote distance in East China, this study shows the importance of urban effects interacting with lake/sea breezes in triggering deep convection.

Resolution dependence of the turbulent atmospheric boundary layer in global storm‐resolving climate simulations

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Increasing the resolution by the order of a few kilometres in global climate simulations causes no substantial changes to boundary‐layer properties and processes over land. Some global changes are detected that indicate circulation changes, and small changes to the boundary‐layer depth and structure are found over land in the Tropics.

Application of novel technologies to reach net‐zero greenhouse gas emissions in the fresh pasteurised milk supply chain: A review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dairy Technology, Volume 76, Issue 1, Page 38-50, February 2023., 2023
Feasibility assessment factors of sustainable dairy technologies (3‐nitrooxipropanol, Ultraviolet C light and Biochar), limitations and roadmap for their implementation towards net‐zero greenhouse gas emissions in the dairy supply chain. This review assesses the potential of three novel technologies (3‐nitrooxypropanol, ultraviolet C light cold ...

Spatial variability of near‐surface air temperature in the Copernicus Arctic regional reanalysis

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study investigates spatial variability of near‐surface air temperature in the European Arctic, using the Copernicus Arctic Regional Reanalysis data from 1991 to 2022. Geographical features and seasonal changes strongly influence spatial variability of air temperature.
