First principles study of a sodium borosilicate glass-former II: The glass state [PDF]
We use ab initio simulations to investigate the properties of a sodium borosilicate glass of composition 3Na_2O-B_2O_3-6SiO_2. We find that the broadening of the first peak in the radial distribution functions g_BO(r) and g_BNa(r) is due to the presence ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Atom-bond-connectivity index of certain graphs
The ABC index is one of the most applicable topological graph indices and several properties of it has been studied already due to its extensive chemical applications. Several variants of it have also been defined and used for several reasons. In this paper, we calculate the atom-bond connectivity index of some derived graphs such as double graphs ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Relaxation and physical aging in network glasses: a review
Recent progresses in the description of glassy relaxation and ageing are reviewed for the wide class of network-forming materials such as $GeO_2$, Ge$_x$Se$_{1-x}$, silicates (SiO$_2$-Na$_2$O) or borates (B$_2$O$_3$-Li$_2$O), all of them having an ...

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.
