Magnetic lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) biocatalyst for integrated valorization of tilapia by‐products and biodiesel biorefining

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 1835-1860, July/August 2026.
Abstract The immobilization of lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) on an amino‐epoxy functionalized magnetic support (Fe3O4‐PEI‐DGEBA) resulted in a highly stable and efficient biocatalyst for biofuel production from tilapia oil. The synthesized support was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray ...

Synergistic Effects of Hydroxyapatite Supported Ni‐Pt Bimetallic Sites on the Efficient Reductive Regeneration of 1,4‐NADH

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 14, 29 July 2026.
This study demonstrates that nickel–platinum nanoparticles supported on biocompatible hydroxyapatite enable efficient reductive regeneration of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) using molecular hydrogen as a sustainable reductant. The bimetallic Ni–Pt system on nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite allows yields and selectivity in NAD+ reduction to be ...

Altitudinal Variation in Trade‐Off Strategies of the Plant Economics Spectrum of Pinus massoniana Plantations in Subtropical Mountains

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study investigated the resource‐use strategies of trees and understory shrubs along an altitudinal gradient in subtropical Pinus massoniana plantations. It revealed that P. massoniana shifts from an acquisitive to a conservative strategy with increasing elevation, while understory shrubs show the opposite pattern.

Constructing Cu/Cu2O Heterogeneous Interface for Efficient Urea Electrosynthesis

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
In this study, a Cu/Cu2O heterogeneous interface with dual active sites is prepared for electrocatalytic CO2 and NO3− coupling to urea. The catalyst shows high yield rates of 1156.63 mmol g−1 h−1 and FE of 29.67% at −1.0 V (vs RHE), which is significantly higher than Cu and Cu2O, highlighting the advantages of heterogeneous interface synergistic ...

Simple (YGa)2O3/F‐SnO2 Heterojunction‐Based Solar‐Blind Ultraviolet Photodetector Operable in Two Modes With Superb Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Yttrium doping was proposed to expand the bandgap and inhibit the oxygen vacancies of Ga2O3 to form (YGa)2O3 alloy with reduced background carriers and trap centers. Beneficially, simple vertical‐structured (YGa)2O3/FTO heterojunction photodetectors exhibit superb performance with particularly low dark current and fast photoresponse in both self‐driven
