Coherence Time in High Energy Proton-Nucleus Collisions [PDF]
Precisely measured Drell-Yan cross sections for 800 GeV protons incident on a variety of nuclear targets exhibit a deviation from linear scaling in the atomic number A.

Suppression of the radiative decay of atomic coherence in squeezed vacuum [PDF]
Quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic vacuum are responsible for physical effects such as the Casimir force and the radiative decay of atoms, and set fundamental limits on the sensitivity of measurements.

In addition to the suppressed absorption in the atomic resonance region, an electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) medium also possess giant nonlinear dispersion which significantly affects the optical properties of the medium.

Collapses and revivals of stored orbital angular momentum of light in a cold atomic ensemble
We report on the storage of orbital angular momentum of light in a cold ensemble of cesium atoms. We employ Bragg diffraction to retrieve the stored optical information impressed into the atomic coherence by the incident light fields.

Observing quantum coherence induced transparency of hybrid vector beams in atomic vapor
In recent years, vector beams (VBs) with spatially varying polarization profiles have been used in many fields. Here we study the transmission properties of a hybrid VB passing through atomic vapor. We observe a four-petal pattern which is induced by the

Return to the Origin as a Probe of Atomic Phase Coherence. [PDF]
We report on the observation of the coherent enhancement of the return probability ["enhanced return to the origin" (ERO)] in a periodically kicked cold-atom gas. By submitting an atomic wave packet to a pulsed, periodically shifted, laser standing wave,

Phase Coherence of an Atomic Mott Insulator [PDF]
We investigate the phase coherence properties of ultracold Bose gases in optical lattices, with special emphasis on the Mott insulating phase. We show that phase coherence on short length scales persists even deep in the insulating phase, preserving a finite visibility of the interference pattern observed after free expansion.

Quantum properties of correlated emission laser with dephasing and phase fluctuation
We consider a two-photon laser in a cascade configuration coupled to an ordinary vacuum reservoir via a partially transmitting mirror. The impacts of the dephasing and the phase fluctuation on the entanglement, two-mode squeezing, and the intensity of ...
