A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Joint denoising and distortion correction of atomic scale scanning transmission electron microscopy images

open access: yes, 2016
Nowadays, modern electron microscopes deliver images at atomic scale. The precise atomic structure encodes information about material properties.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

A stress test on 235U(n, f) in adjustment with HCI and HMI benchmarks

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
To understand how compensation errors occur in a nuclear data adjustment mostly devoted to U-Pu fuelled fast critical experiments and with only limited information on U-235 data, a stress test on 235U(n,f) was suggested, using critical benchmarks ...

Atomic Diffusion and Mixing in Old Stars V: A deeper look into the Globular Cluster NGC 6752 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Abundance trends in heavier elements with evolutionary phase have been shown to exist in the globular cluster NGC 6752 [Fe/H]=-1.6. These trends are a result of atomic diffusion and additional (non-convective) mixing.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

The evaluated nuclear data library for ADS in China

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The neutron and proton reaction data up to 200 MeV are calculated and evaluated using both nuclear model calculations and experimental data for Accelerator Driven System (ADS).

Measuring nebular temperatures: the effect of new collision strengths with equilibrium and kappa-distributed electron energies

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we develop tools for observers to use when analysing nebular spectra for temperatures and metallicities, with two goals: to present a new, simple method to calculate equilibrium electron temperatures for collisionally excited line flux ...

Verifying atomic data types [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Parallel Programming, 1989
Abstract: "Atomic transactions are a widely-accepted technique for organizing computation in fault-tolerant distributed systems. In most languages and systems based on transactions, atomicity is implemented through atomic objects, typed data objects that provide their own synchronization and recovery.

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...
